THE ART OF THE GUITAR WALL

THE FELLOWSHIP OF ACOUSTICS DEDEMSVAART, NETHERLANDS

The heart of The Fellowship of Acoustics (TFOA) is the beautifully restored 10-room villa, built in 1878, which houses an extensive collection of acoustic guitars [right photo]. Each room is designed to showcase specific brands and styles, from the Martin guitar room to spaces dedicated to Eu- ropean and American boutique makers like Lowden, Atkin, Collings and Santa Cruz. There’s also a dedicated Chinese guitar room featuring Eastman and Blueridge models, as well as specialized spaces for Taylor, Gibson and vintage instruments, including rare Martins, Gibsons and Fenders. Downstairs, the electric department takes on an entirely different aesthetic. Housed in the modern section of the building, this space embraces a 1960s and 1970s vibe. “Customers are astonished by the display and tell us it feels like walk - ing through a museum,” said Rudi Bults, founder of TFOA. The store uses Hercules hangers with stylish woodblocks to display the guitars. A professional decorator visits every two weeks to refresh TFOA’s guitar walls.
