From cloud-based retail operations platforms to lesson program management systems, SaaS tools have transformed how MI retailers streamline daily operations, enhance the customer experience and drive sales growth. Here, we share four SaaS platforms that our retailer experts are relying heavily on at the moment. — By Kimberly Kapela

SYNC2SELL What Is it: Started by Sims Music’s general manager Justin Sims, Sync2Sell is an e- commerce integration tool that automates inventory and order management. It connects POS systems directly to major online marketplaces, such as Amazon, eBay, Meta and Reverb. How it’s Helpful: Key features include automatic inventory sync and a centralized dashboard that lets the retailer step back and help customers in front of the store while orders are coming in online. “We’ve built the whole system around the entire marketplace ‘world’ and have built all these specifics, so we can go in and help you automate to stop stock from getting blocked from posting [to your website] or missing certain item specs for the marketplaces,” Sims said. “It’s focused around simplifying the process.” Why Retailers Love it: The system was built from a retailer’s point of view and is designed to help in the daily flow for a brick-and-mortar retailer. When retailers sign up, it’s Sims who’s giving the demo and helping retailers set up their accounts, mimicking the intimate in-store retail experience and translating it onto Sync2Sell. “We give small brick-and-mortar shops a voice, a name and an ability to connect with people, and on top of that, we’re very hands on.”

OPUS1 What Is it: Opus1 is a cloud-based management platform for music and performing arts schools, designed to streamline operations, including scheduling, payments and client/teacher management. Offering free trials and paid versions, the platform also provides Opus1 Plus, a growth solution with CRM and marketing capabilities. How it’s Helpful: CRM is built into the platform and new leads feed straight into the CRM. Retailers can create ad campaigns directly to prospects based on their interests. Why Retailers Love it: Mark Maxwell, owner of Maxwell’s House of Music in Indiana, said he uses it for the store’s education department and was drawn to its depth of auto- mation and the ability to customize many aspects of the platform. “We just started using it recently,” he shared. “[While] Opus1 is still very new to us, and we’re working through the learning curve with their staff, their support team has made it pretty smooth. We’re all extremely busy, but the great thing about Opus1 is that it can be set up to send the team reminders to do follow-ups with potential students. So far, it feels like it’s keeping us on track with what needs to be done for our education department.”
