A deep commitment to quality and consistency keeps Eastman Music Company at the top of retailers’ trusted partners lists. — By Kimberly Kapela KING OF QUALITY F or the third year in a row, Eastman Music Company has been honored with a Supplier Excellence Award man, vice president of Eastman. “We’re very fortunate to own our factories and to develop products in-house. This lets us hit price points that we need to hit, while still keeping the features, benefits and the playability of our products geared towards the audience that we’re aiming for.”

by Music Inc.’s Excellence-voting retail- ers. And quality seemed to be the noun of choice for retailers when describing why. As one voter put it, “The overall quality of products, both in build and performance, has far exceeded their price points.” Maintaining that level of excellence is no small feat, especially as Eastman continues to grow its expansive brand portfolio. “It’s always about what’s best for the audience we’re building that product for — whether that’s a student or someone playing professionally,” said Ryan Rich-

“We have a passion for our products, and our owner, Qian Ne, has always had a passion for making sure that product is something that a person would want to buy,” Richman said. “My philosophy is, if I wouldn’t buy it for my own family, then how would I expect somebody else to buy it for theirs? It really comes down to mak- ing sure that we put our effort into making a quality product that’s something that we would want to own ourselves.” MI

Quality control plays a pivotal role in maintaining that consistency. Eastman continuously refines its processes to guar- antee reliability. “We’re not afraid to add other quality control checkpoints along the manufac- turing cycle,” Richman said. From the factory floor to the sales team, Eastman’s culture is rooted in relationships.
