RME’s Fireface Turns 20 For the 20th anniversary of the Fireface 800 interface, RME has released a spe- cial edition: the Fireface 802 FS AE in a dark design, inspired by the success- ful ADI-2 series. The Fireface 802 FS AE is technically identical to the Fireface 802 FS and offers the same features and func- tions, which include 60 channels of audio, high-end microphone preamps, reference class converters, a complete effects sec- tion and operation at up to 192 kHz. Active SteadyClock FS jitter suppression, indi- vidually switchable reference levels for all inputs and outputs, DC-coupled outputs for all eight analog line outputs, full stand- alone functionality, DigiCheck metering and analysis toolbox, and identical opera- tion on Windows PC and Mac completes the package. $ RME (rme-usa.com)

FreqPort Launches FreqInOut FreqPort has launched its FreqInOut FO1, a combined hardware audio interface, patchbay and plugin solution for connect- ing and controlling outboard gear within a DAW. FreqInOut is designed to provide a user-friendly and efficient method for con- necting outboard gear. gration, a built-in analog matrix that enables easy reconfiguration of signal paths without adding latency, and an analog wet/ dry mix and M/S (mid/side) mode for enhanced sound shaping. The FreqInOut has professional-grade 32-bit ESS convert- ers, that support sample rates up to 192 kHz. FreqInOut uses a USB-C connec- tion to connect to a computer and is com- patible with all major DAWs. In addition, FreqInOut offers a QR code feature that allows the user to capture their outboard gear settings and apply them as a custom plugin skin. $ FreqPort (freqport.com) It has the ability to hook up EQs, com- pressors, DSP processors, synths, pedals and many other types of outboard audio gear to a computer. The FreqInOut plugin can then be opened on an insert, send or instrument channel in the DAW, resulting in the outboard gear appearing as a plugin. Features include seamless DAW inte-
