Cort’s New Bass Provides Balanced Frequencies
Cort Guitars’ new GB-Fusion Bass series starts with a J-style bass design. The GB-Fusion features a solid alder body — the most balanced of all the tonewoods — providing a balance of low, mid and high frequencies. The spalted maple top extends the dynamic range of the bass. A see-through pickguard allows for its spalted design to show through. The four-string version of the GB-Fusion is lacquered in a Blue Burst stained finish to show off its natu- ral wood grain. The five-string version features a classic Antique Brown Burst
stained finish. A bolt-on Hard maple neck allows for a punchier mid-range. An Indian rosewood fretboard with white dot inlays adorns the four-string Blue Burst version of the GB-Fusion with an overall width of 1.5 inches at the nut, while the GB-Fusion 5 Antique Brown Burst features a Birdseye Maple fret- board with black dot inlays and an over- all width of 1 7/8 inches at the nut. DWe Wireless Kit Gets Colorful DWe is a wireless, convertible acoustic- electronic drum set introduced by Drum Workshop (DW) in 2023. In 2025, DWe will have a wider choice of shell finishes with the release of Diamond Nebula, Laser Blue Metallic and Limited-Edition Exotic Santos Rosewood. DWe’s fully convertible, handcrafted drums are built using 100% American Maple 333 shells in DW’s factory in ing bounces off its shiny surface; and the Hard Satin Natural finish of the Limited- Edition Exotic Santos Rosewood, which offers a natural wood grain that is streaked with reds and browns. But in typical Taylor style, mas- ter guitar designer Andy Powers brings Hawaiian koa into the Gold Label fold. The Gold Label 814e Koa is crafted featuring a new super auditorium body style, voiced with a new fanned variant of Powers’ V-Class bracing, and introduces a long- tenon neck joint that delivers improved resonance, power and low-end presence. This model sports back and sides of beautifully figured Hawaiian koa paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top, channel- ing a deep, open character complemented by koa’s natural midrange shimmer and punch.
