SONTRONICS

ARIA 2 Sontronics has released the Aria 2, a re- designed valve condenser microphone for vocals, voice over and acoustic instruments. The new model builds on the legacy of the original Aria. At the heart of Aria 2 is a new large-diaphragm capsule, developed in-house to deliver a smoother, more open sound with balanced mids and detailed high frequen- cies. This new capsule captures vocals and instruments with clarity and warmth, making it ideal for studio use. The upgraded internal circuitry has been tuned for higher polariza- tion voltage, resulting in greater sensitivity, lower self-noise and a cleaner, more dynamic signal straight out of the box. {sontronics.com}

AUSTRIAN AUDIO

CC8-SC Austrian Audio’s new CC8- SC is the company’s second pencil mic, however this model features a supercardioid polar pattern instead of a cardioid pattern. The CC8-SC uses the OCC7 true condenser capsule inspired by the CK1 capsule. The mic’s OCC7 capsule with true condenser technology, combined with the transformer- less circuitry, delivers a carefully tailored frequency response. The microphone can handle extremely high sound pressure levels, which in combination with a low self-noise of only 13 dB results in an impressive dynamic range. Fast transients and spatial information are captured in detail without distortion. {austrian.audio}
